Lou's Pick | Skinny Tie Clip

The tie clip, tie slide, tie bar, tie clasp (whatever you want to call it) has been a practical and stylish way to keep your tie from swinging around and hitting you in the face. The clip keeps the tie in check while maintaining your neat and hopefully dapper appearance. Recently, I came across the brand Skinny Tie Clip who have combined the concept of the tie bar and tie clip. See the tie pin was originally worn by English gentleman to secure the folds of their cravats in the 1800s. By the 1920s the tie bar became popular and has remained relevant for our time. Skinny uses a patented SnapLNX technology that allows the small disc shape clip to secure flush across the tie when it engages. So you get the function of a tie bar with the look of a tie pin. Impressive!

The Skinny Tie Clip is lightweight and small. Yes, small enough to lose so keep your eyes on them. The brand makes a wide range of designs to choose from like the "1969 Penny, "NYC Subway", "Crown" and the "FFWD". You also have the option to design your own. The clips start at $40 bucks, which isn't too bad. Next week I'll be posting an outfit where you'll be able to see this bad boy in action.
